Accessibility

We want you to enjoy using our website, and to be able to access the information you need quickly and easily. With this in mind, we are continually working to update our website to ensure that is as accessible as possible to everyone who uses it, in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Below are some guidelines that explain how you can make our website easier for you to use by altering things like the size of the text and how it is displayed.

For Internet Explorer

Text size

You can change the text size to make it either larger or smaller via your browser settings. Some browsers will allow you to magnify the whole page. To change the text size use the menu bar to:

  • 1. Click on View then click Text Size.
  • 2. Simply specify the size you want to use.

Alternatively:

  • 1. Click on View then Zoom.
  • 2. Simply specify the size you want to use.

Colour

To specify website fonts and colors use the menu bar to:

  • 1. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
  • 2. On the General tab, click on Colours then untick Use Window Colours.
  • 3. Specify the Colours you want to use, and then click OK.

For Firefox

Page Zoom

You can zoom in and out of web pages including images with the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Press Ctrl++ to display the web page one size larger.
  • Press Ctrl+- to display the web page one size smaller.
  • Press Ctrl+0 (zero) to display the web page at its default size.

Text Zoom

You can choose to change the text size only using the Text Zoom feature:

  • 1. Press the Alt key to temporarily bring up the traditional Firefox menus. At the top of the Firefox window, click the View menu, then go to Zoom.
  • 2. Select Zoom Text Only, which will make the controls only apply to text, not images.

The following keyboard shortcuts control text size when Text Zoom is selected:

  • Press Ctrl++ to increase the text size.
  • Press Ctrl+- to decrease the text size.
  • Press Ctrl+0 (zero) to reset the text size to its default size.

Note that some web pages may display incorrectly if you increase or decrease the text size.

For Chrome

These instructions should guide you through the simple steps of changing the following settings in the Google Chrome Web Browser:

Text size

  • 1. Click the page icon in the top right corner of the toolbar
  • 2. Click on zoom and then make your text size smaller or larger

You should now notice a change in the size of the text.

Alternatively, if you have a scroll mouse:

Hold down the Control Key (Ctrl) on your keyboard and scroll up or down depending on whether you want the text size larger or smaller (this may not work on all web pages).

Text Style

  • 1. Click the spanner icon on the toolbar
  • 2. Click on Options
  • 3. You will need to ensure that the Minor Tweaks tab is selected
  • 4. Click on the Change font and language settings button
  • 5. Click on Change to select your desired fonts
  • 6. Click OK

For Safari

Page Zoom

This feature will increase and decrease the size of text and images on the screen for better visibility.

  • 1. Press and hold down the COMMAND key on your keyboard.
  • 2. At the same time as holding the COMMAND key:
    • press the + key to increase the size of the text and images
    • press the - key to decrease the size of the text and images
  • 3. Keep repeating Step 2 until you reach the desired size.

Text Style

To change the type, size and colour of your font and the background colour:

  • 1. Select the Safari menu, the select Preferences.
  • 2. Select Appearance, which is the second option on the right.
  • 3. Under Standard font, select the Select button. Choose your desired font type, size and colour.
  • Click OK on the Preferences screen.
