Changes to the Scheme

The current counsellor/psychotherapist accreditation scheme has been in place since January 2005. An updated plain language version of the pack was introduced in July 2008.

When the scheme had been running for two years, we realised that we could improve the accreditation pack. It is important to remember that the requirements for becoming accredited did not change when the packs changed. The accreditation requirements and instructions are now clearer and more user-friendly but this has not changed what you need to do to get accredited.

The requirements to become accredited as a counsellor/psychotherapist have not changed since 2005.

The new plain language application pack is the one that appears online and the one we now send out from the office. We no longer accept applications on old application packs.  If you do send an application in on anything other than the current pack, we will return it to you and ask you to resubmit your application using the correct form.
