Supervisor Accreditation
Welcome to the new supervisor accreditation schemes.
These schemes have been developed by our Assessor team and with the help of members who took part in the pilot of the new criteria which took place in the summer of 2010.
What is different?
- There are now two entirely seperate schemes - one for supervisors of individual counsellors/psychotherapists and another for supervisors of groups of counsellors/psychotherapists. These replace the 'interim scheme' which you might have downloaded previously.
- You don't have to apply for both schemes at the same time.
- If you only want to apply for one scheme it's now cheaper and if you want to apply for both - it isn't any more expensive!
- The criteria more closely reflect how people actually work and practice
- There is a lower requirement for supervision practice hours in order to be eligible to apply so more people will find themselves ready to apply.
- Accreditation as a supervisor now awards you Senior Accredited status.
You can download the application packs by clicking on the relevant links below. In these packs you will find all the information you need to make an application including the full criteria.
You can save an application pack to your computer so you can complete it electronically if you want - use your right mouse button to click on the icon, then choose the option 'save as', tell the computer where you would like to save the document and give it a name you can remember!

Remember, we can only answer general questions about the application process and eligibility. The office team can't answer queries about, or help you interpret, the reflective practice criteria.
If you want to talk to an assessor about your application you can book onto a 'surgery'. These are half hour long, one to one sessions with one of our trained assessors where you can explore and clarify the criteria for accreditation. Please see the events page for dates and venues plus booking.

Applicants under previous schemes
The previous 'interim' scheme closed to new applications on 30th April 2011.
If you applied for accreditation under the interim scheme or the pilot scheme and were deferred, you can either send additional material as outlined in your deferral letter or you could choose to make a new application using the new scheme.
