Re-accreditation process

Service Accreditation is awarded for a five year term.

Four-five months before their term ends, an accredited service will be sent an invitation to re-accredit that service, enclosed with all the information they need to make an application. This will normally be done via email to the named contact, but hardcopies can be provided on request.

The process and information required is the same as for the initial application, so it is helpful if the Service has retained a complete copy of their original submission and resubmission (if applicable). When putting together a reaccreditation application, consideration needs to be made of:

  • the accreditation criteria - do make sure you revisit this
  • the FAQ sheet - this may change periodically
  • the original application Assessment Report and Resubmission Assessment Report (if applicable)
  • all Annual Report feedback comments
  • all changes to the service provided, the service delivery, policies and procedures, etc
  • any additional services the organisation has developed that were not available when the original application was made - it maybe that a separate application for such services will be required

During the term of accreditation, an organisation/service, will have undergone change on some level. The re-accreditation application needs to reflect this, as well as ensuring that all information enclosed as evidence is current and up-to-date.

Making a Re-accreditation submission

A re-accreditation application should be made in the way as that of the original application - please click here to refer to the 'How to apply' information.

The application then proceeds through the usual assessment process, being assessed on the information provided within that application.

Fee

As of 1 April 2010 the fee for making a re-accreditation submission is:

  • £970 for those in the commercial sector
  • £257 for those in the not-for-profit sector
