Welcome to the NHS commissioning webpages

This site features NHS Commissioning resources for BACP members with three main aims

Aim one: inform members about NHS reforms

These webpages, the resources available to download and the links to other sites are designed to help BACP members understand current NHS reforms and how they are relevant to counselling and psychotherapy provision.

Aim two: equip members to advocate for counselling  and psychotherapy

All BACP members can get involved as advocates for NHS-funded counselling and psychotherapy using resources provided by BACP, including leaflets and posters for GP practices.

Aim three: equip members to prepare for commissioning

A wide range of service types can become NHS providers, including: NHS trusts, charities, social enterprises, large or small private companies and single-handed practitioners. Our guidance is relevant to all types of services, both those that have current NHS contracts and those seeking future NHS contracts and/or those with plans to apply for Any Qualified Provider status.
