Counselling on a global canvas
Over the last decade western therapy has gone global. Therapists
from the UK now work with traumatised people from war and disaster
zones all over the world, on VSO projects in developing countries,
as negotiators on international and forensic assignments.
Our conference this year will explore and celebrate many of
these exciting developments. But we will also ask what can
we as western therapists and citizens learn from the way other
cultures live and cope with trauma and with life in general?
What is the desired outcome of therapy anyway?
What does it mean to be ‘happy’ in the UK
or China or Beirut in 2007?
