Continuing Professional Development

Forthcoming CPD

Self harm, self care and the way between Gloucestershire - 1st Jul 2017

CPD is defined as 'any process or activity that provides added value to the capability of the professional through the increase in knowledge, skills and personal qualities necessary for the appropriate execution of professional and technical duties, often termed competence.' - Professional Associations Research Network.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) is committed to continued professional development and is aware of a growing demand for CPD.

The CPD directory provides therapists a source of information on CPD opportunities from participating providers. You can search or browse the directory to find opportunities that meet your requirements.

If you would like to advertise in this directory, please contact Sam Edwards on 01455 883319 or email sam.edwards@bacp.co.uk.

CPD Endorsement Scheme: This scheme was withdrawn in March 2016 and we are unable to accept any new applications or renewals. CPD activities which were endorsed before that date will not be affected until the end of their endorsement period.

All currently endorsed CPD activities have been assessed against the CPD Endorsement Scheme criteria specifically. Endorsed activities have not been assessed against any other BACP scheme criteria or competency frameworks/curricula unless stated.

BACP aims to ensure that endorsed activities are of a suitable standard for use for CPD activities but individual needs will vary. Endorsement / inclusion in the CPD Directory does not indicate that a CPD activity will automatically meet the learning and development aims of a practitioner. Members are responsible for making an informed choice about the CPD they choose to undertake, according to their own needs, experience, role and external CPD requirements, and should perform their own checks, risk assessment and due diligence. Links to CPD providers are available and can be used to find out more information about the activity or to contact the CPD provider for more information. The information provided on third party websites is the responsibility of the website provider and not the responsibility of BACP.

In no event will BACP be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from attending endorsed or other advertised CPD events or from using the material or information gained at them. BACP is not liable if a CPD activity does not meet expectations; delegates may choose to follow the CPD provider's complaints policy as appropriate.
