Are you a trainee or recently qualified counsellor in the UK and identify as Trans or gender diverse?

As part of my MA in Clinical Counselling I am looking to recruit participants for a research project exploring how identifying as Trans* or gender diverse can impact the emotional experiences of trainee therapists during counsellor training.

Are you:

• A student or graduate from a counselling training course in the UK with a personal development element and identify as Trans* or gender diverse?

• A current student or graduate from a counselling course which includes placement prior to qualification?

• In your second year or above and already in placement or no more than 2 years post qualification?

• 20+ years old?

• Fluent in English?

This research will hopefully allow for you to feel that your voice has been heard and contribute to raising awareness of issues for Trans and gender diverse students within training and placement moving forwards. It may also be an opportunity to contribute to change and celebrate the diversity within the counselling profession.

If you answered yes to the above questions and are interested in participating in this study, you can contact me, AJ Jackson (they/them) by emailing 936141956@chester.ac.uk

You will then be sent a participant information sheet with additional details and if you wish to continue you will be invited to a MS Teams interview lasting between 60-90 minutes.

Please see the study poster for more information.

(* For the purpose of this study I will be using the term ‘Trans’ to cover people whose gender is not the same as, or does not sit comfortably with, the gender they were assigned at birth)
