An Evening with Susie Orbach - London, 16 March 2017

A Life in Therapy: learning, every day

Overview - There is no such thing as a psyche, or indeed a body. Psyches and bodies develop in the context of relationships and it is within the fine grain work of therapy and counselling relationships that we endeavour to understand and enable the individual, and the couple, to address the complexity of their history so they can live more fully in the present.

Biography - Susie Orbach is a psychotherapist, writer and co-founder of The Women’s Therapy Centre, London.

She’s written numerous books. Her first Fat is a Feminist Issue has been continuously in print since 1978. Her most recent In Therapy is based on the Radio 4 series of the same name.

She lectures widely in the UK, Europe and North America, has written for several magazines and newspapers, and provided consultation advice for organisations from the Government and the NHS to the World Bank. She was a visiting professor at the London School of Economics.

She continues to work with many individuals and couples from her practice in London.
