We were due to open the support phase for the resolutions and motions process and the nomination phase for the Governor elections today, 1 August 2022.

We’re very sorry, but due to a large increase in the number of motions and resolutions received this year, there have been some unforeseen delays in our internal administration procedures.

We're really pleased to have seen more than a 40% increase in submissions compared to 2020 and 2021 and would like to thank everyone who has engaged. We're sorry it's taken us longer than expected to process these.

Because of this, we’re delaying the opening of both processes to Monday 8 August 2022.

What does this mean?

We’re really sorry about the delay to the original advertised dates. But we want to reassure our members that you’ll still get the same amount of time to show your support for motions and resolutions put forward and to nominate in the Governor elections, as you would’ve originally.

The support phase for motions and resolutions will now open on Monday 8 August and close on Friday 9 September.

Similarly, the Governor nominations process will now open on Monday 8 August and close on Friday 9 September.

What happens next?

On Monday 8 August members will get two emails via MiVoice from BACP Chair, Natalie Bailey. One is about the motions and resolutions support phase and one about the Governor nominations. The emails will have more information about how you can get involved. Please keep an eye out for them, and check your spam and junk folders in case the emails go in there.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
