May 2021: Promoting collaboration in research, policy and practice

Our 27th Annual Research Conference, co-hosted by the University of Salford, was held online due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

On Friday 14 May there were six research forums and a pre-conference workshop. On Saturday 15 May there was a full programme of presentations on a wide range of topics including research collaborations and partnerships, research on the impact of COVID-19 in the counselling professions, remote working, school-based counselling, resilience and student mental health.

Keynote presentations 

Michael Barkham: The results of the PRaCTICED trial and implications for person-centred experiential therapy

Mick Cooper: The results of the ETHOS trial for young people and implications for person-centred therapy

Conference delegates had access to:

  • recordings of 22 livestream presentations
  • recordings from dedicated live Q&A sessions discussing key themes with presenters, including our keynote presenters discussing the future of person-centred therapy and its place in the therapeutic landscape
  • plus 40+ additional research presentations
  • a CPD certificate and selected presentation slide downloads
  • a conference poster exhibition to hear about emerging research

May 2020: Keeping clients at the centre of research

Our 26th Annual Research Conference co-hosted by the University of the West of England, was held online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The online event won the Association Awards UK 2020 Best Online Conference award.
