BACP Research Strategy 2008 - 09 Research at BACP Research evidence is needed to underpin the delivery of ‘safe, accountable, high quality and effective psychological therapy’ in accordance with BACP’s mission. Developing a research culture and disseminating research knowledge will support BACP’s vision of moving ‘towards an emotionally healthy society’. Research at BACP continues to take forward two strategic aims: To develop a research culture within the organisation and the profession of counselling and psychotherapy To identify and contribute to the evidence base for counselling and psychotherapy, in collaboration with external academic partners
In addition, current work is directed towards three new strategic aims, which are under discussion in BACP. These are: To help develop a national infrastructure for research To evolve as an evidence based policy organisation To establish and sustain the BACP Research Foundation
