Benefits of BACP student membership

"BACP is very useful in helping me keep abreast of developments, develop opinions and ideas and if necessary find people who can assist me"

Members' Discussion Board

4311_forum11.jpg

Launched in 2009, the  student members' discussion board  is a way for members to communicate with one another on the issues that are important to them.

The discussion board can be used to ask advice, discuss experiences and share information.

You may be having difficulty with your course or workload and want to get the opinion of others in a similar situation, you may have read a really useful book and want to recommend it to other students or be looking for suggestions on where to find a placement or what to do after your course.

Whatever you choose to discuss is entirely up to you but we hope the discussion board will provide student members with a place to bring ideas and issues to the attention of other students and to BACP.

All we ask is that you respect other forum users, refrain from using offensive language and remember confidentiality issues where necessary.

Therapy Today

therapy today  is a professional magazine published by BACP on a monthly basis (except in January and August). It is a useful way of keeping up to date with news and developments within counselling and psychotherapy.

Therapy Today now contains a column written by a student member describing their experiences as they train.

Insurance

Even as a student it is important to ensure you are covered by insurance when seeing clients.

You should check whether you are covered by the organisation where you are seeing clients and if not, should ensure you have personal indemnity cover.
