Making the future yours

Salford University 26 June 2010

London School of Theology 10 July 2010

BACP Student members ONLY £25; Non-members £30

Following consultation with our student forum BACP are pleased to announce that this year, for the first time, we will be presenting a conference specifically for our student members. This will be a one-day event, taking place in Salford on 26 June 2010 and repeated in London on 10 July 2010.

The day will include Masterclasses covering questions and topics such as:

  • Ever wondered what your future holds once qualified or nearing qualification? Do you want to know more about the job market and career paths?
  • Do you really understand the world of ethical dilemmas? Join in our debate on a very current topical ethical issue - You are the counsellor/psychotherapist - what would you consider and do? How can your Insurance Company help you?
  • What makes a good supervisor and supervisee - as a student you will probably have experience of a number of supervisors - how do you get the best out of them and how do you manage the relationship if a placement supervisor relationship ruptures?
  • Meet Lee Partis - Keynote speaker. He made his future his by getting his dream job - listen to his inspirational address and ask questions afterwards
  • Want to know more about regulation, accreditation, IAPT, practice based commissioning? We will hopefully answer your questions around these subjects.

We have worked hard to make this event accessible to as many of you as possible, and so we have kept the cost as low as we can: £25 for BACP student members, and £30 for BACP members & non-members. We are running this conference at two locations to keep travel and accommodation costs minimal for students. Both conferences will have the same masterclasses. We are very excited about the programme, and we hope the day will be useful and enjoyable for you.
