Built on a reputation for excellence, this two-day conference has much to offer those working in the counselling and psychotherapy world, including researchers, students, trainers, training providers and practitioners.  For 23 years, the BACP Research Conference has been a place where researchers and practitioners come together to exchange ideas on important research findings, which are presented in open discussion with constructive critical debate and helpful dialogue. The conference fosters a climate where all are welcome to share in both the learning and social experience of the event. The conference has benefitted over this time from representation (both presenters and delegates) from 23 countries, making it a truly international event.

Conference structure

There will be simultaneous strands running each day, including papers, symposia and workshops. The strands will include presentations, grouped according to theme, which run throughout the event giving you a wide choice from a varied programme. Posters will be presented separately; posters are displayed throughout the event and presenters have one minute in which to address the whole conference in order to attract interest in their research and visitors to their poster. A PDF abstract booklet is available well in advance so delegates can plan their conference attendance. Papers last for 30 minutes, workshops for 60 minutes, symposia for 90 minutes, and each presentation allows for Q&A and feedback sessions.
