This research seeks to explore the experiences of providing counselling sessions outside in nature. The subthemes incorporated will examine the applicability of engaging in therapy outdoors and exploring the constraint’s imposed upon the counselling profession due to the pandemic.

As a participant you will be in a unique position to bring greater understanding into the effects of nature-based interventions when used in outdoor therapy.

What is involved?

An interview lasting 50 minutes undertaken within an outdoor therapeutic setting.

To take part you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a member of the BACP or a professional body
  • Self-identify as sufficiently fluent and proficient in written and spoken English to participate freely
  • Reflect upon your experiences of working outdoors
  • Safely explore your experiences to be able to talk openly and freely
  • To live within a thirty-minute distance to Thurrock, Essex.
  • Commit to being involved in this project for up to one hour.
