A counsellor’s experience of the therapeutic relationship when working with a client with alcohol dependency – a small scale qualitative study 

Research Question

“When working with a client who has an awareness of their alcohol dependency: what is the counsellor’s experience of the therapeutic relationship?”

Participant Eligibility 

Are you a counsellor registered with an accrediting body such as BACP who has experience of working with clients with alcohol dependency?

Would you be willing to share your experience of the therapeutic relationship with clients identifying as having an alcohol dependency in a safe and confidential way with me? 

Participation involves:

•       an anonymous, hour-long, semi structured interview online, via Zoom at a time convenient to you. 
•       No commitment assumed after initial contact.

This research forms part of my dissertation for an MA in Counselling, and it’s approved by Waverley Abbey College Ethics committee.
