I am a Master's student on the MA Clinical Counselling course at the University of Chester recruiting participants for my dissertation research. I am looking to explore what the impact of being raised as a man in western culture feels like for male counsellors based in the UK, as they look back on their readiness for and experience of engaging in person-centred therapy.

I am looking to recruit people who meet the following criteria:

  • Identify as male and have been raised as a male from birth
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Identify as being raised in a Western culture
  • Must be a counsellor who has been a person-centred trainee
  • Have experience of receiving person-centred therapy
  • Fluent in English
  • Live in the UK

You will be invited to take part in an audio-recorded interview over video call lasting between 45 and 90 minutes to elaborate on your experiences.

Ethical approval for this research has been granted by the Department of Social and Political Science Ethics Committee and the University of Chester.

If you are interested in participating and would like further information, then please contact me by email on 1914525@chester.ac.uk

Expiry date: 30th April 2022

Many thanks,

Jonathan Dobson
