The purpose of this study is for myself to deeply understand counsellor's experiences of working with client's with chronic illness and how particularly this may have impacted in any way upon the therapeutic relationship with your client. I aim to establish common themes amongst varying counsellor's experiences in order to understand an area of counselling literature which remains deeply under explored.

You are invited to take part if you have qualified in the following modalities: person centred counselling, humanistic integrative, psycho-dynamic and transactional analysis therapy. You must also have a clear understanding of the term 'therapeutic relationship' and have worked with a client with chronic illness.

Participants are invited to take part in a semi-structured format by telephone. You will be asked questions relating to your experiences working with a client with chronic illness and how you believe this may have impacted upon your therapeutic relationship. If it did what specifically felt impacted? You will be given a unique opportunity to explore your own practice and reflect upon your experiences in relation to perhaps your future practice.

My research has received ethical approval.

If you have any questions about the research or would like to take part please email me on s1513871@uni.cumbria.ac.uk  for further information.
