“What is the client’s experience of exploring the impact of the death of their parent in childhood within an integrative therapeutic relationship in the process of self-discovery?”
Have you suffered a parental bereavement during childhood? Have you explored the impact of this with your therapist? Are you willing to share your experience of your process of self-discovery?
I am looking for clients who are, or have, been in therapy with an integrative therapist for a minimum period of 12 months. This is a qualitative study where the focus is related to the adaptions you may have made in response to the environment following the death of your parent.
The study aims to identify and describe the essence and meaning of the individual’s unique experiences of their process of self-discovery.
I am a 4th year student at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI), and this research project forms part of my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.
If you would like more information, or to participate, please email to receive a participant information sheet. I will arrange a brief phone call to discuss the study process and requirements for informed consent. From here a face to face semi-structured interview will be arranged, lasting 50 minutes and will be audio recorded.
Your anonymity will be protected at all times. Research will be conducted in accordance with SPTI, UKCP and BACP ethical guidelines for research and counselling
