I am conducting research into exploring female counsellors’ engagement in masculinity within their work with male clients.

I am looking to involve experienced female counsellors age between 25-65 years old. Participants will need to have experience working face-to-face with male clients and have a minimum of 3 years’ working with men and their masculinity. In addition, they should either be working toward accreditation or already accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I emphasise that I am not looking for ‘experts’ on the topic I am studying. You will not be judged or personally analysed in any way and you will be treated with respect.

Participation of the research will include:
A face-to face interview, like an informal chat lasting between 50-60 minutes, whereby the interview audio will be recorded and transcribed for analysis. However, if participants are unable to attend the UEL site the interview can take place over Skype using only private personal accounts of both the participant and researcher which no else has access to.

My research has been approved by the School of Psychology Research Ethics Committee. This means that my research follows the standard of research ethics set by the British Psychological Society. If you are interested in taking part please contact me (Lorraine Gay) at u1707643@uel.ac.uk

Please feel free to pass on the advert if you are aware of anybody who may be interested.

Thank you

Lorraine.
