A therapist’s experience working with clients with eating disorders

Have you counselled clients with eating disorders?

If yes, please participate in my research study.

My name is Madelene Louw, and I am a third-year postgraduate student studying towards a Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy (MATCP).

My research question:

What are therapists' experiences working with clients with eating disorders?

Participant Eligibility

I am seeking counsellors/psychotherapists who are working with or have worked with adult clients (age 18 and above) that have an eating disorder, whether formally diagnosed or not. Also, that they are counsellors/psychotherapists in training or qualified, and a member of an accredited professional body for example BACP and/or ACC.

What will it involve?

You will participate in a semi-structured interview that will last approximately 1 hour using Zoom. The interview will take place at a time that is convenient for you. You will share your experience in a safe and confidential space during this time. The interview will be digitally recorded, transcribed, and anonymised.

Ethical Approval

The research has full ethical approval granted by Waverley Abbey College Research Ethics Committee.
