Invitation to take part in psychotherapy research
Research project about the experience of talking about the grief of the death of your pet or animal companion in counselling or therapy
Are you a trainee or qualified counsellor or psychotherapist with experience in talking about the death of your pet or animal companion in your own personal therapy or counselling?
Would you be willing to share your experiences in a confidential one-hour interview? The interview will be held online or in a suitable consultation room, and a debriefing session will be offered a week later.
I am undertaking this research for a dissertation that will fulfil a master’s degree in Integrative psychotherapy through the Minster Centre London and will be awarded by the University of Middlesex. The Minster Centre’s Ethics Committee has approved my research, which will follow the BACP’s ethical guidelines.
Requirements for participants
- To participate, your pet or animal companion will have died a year or longer ago.
- You will have discussed the grief of your animal companion or pet dying with your therapist within the last three years.
- The pet or companion animal can be any species and will be an animal with which you had a close bond and significant relationship. The pet or animal will not have been a therapy or service animal for this research.
