Are you a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist? Would you be willing to talk to me about your experience in training?

As part of my research for my MA in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre in London, I’m seeking recently qualified counsellors or psychotherapists to tell me about their experience as a member of a religious faith undergoing a secular training. If the following describe you, I’d love to hear from you.

  • you identify (or you did when your training commenced) as a practising member of one of the following religions: Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Sikh
  • you qualified as a counsellor or psychotherapist within the past five years (2012-now)
  • your training in counselling or psychotherapy was secular (that is, it did not incorporate spiritual or religious issues to a significant extent)

I would like to interview you in person about your experience, in a confidential one-on-one setting. I expect interviews to last about 60 to 90 minutes. Your participation is voluntary and not compensated. I’m happy to provide more information in advance about practicalities, confidentiality and the research project as a whole — please get in touch with me at

If you know someone who might be interested in participating, please forward this information on to them.

Thank you for your consideration,

Susannah Gill
