Networking with Steve and Jeremy from the BACP
Steve Mulligan and Jeremy Bacon from the BACP will be joining us at this meeting and during our time together, we will have the opportunity to hear about the work they do on our behalf;
Steve is a policy and public affairs specialist who joined BACP as Four Nations Policy and Engagement lead in September 2016. He has significant experience of utilising core channels of influence to achieve lobbying success across each of the parliaments of the UK. Steve has worked for a series of third/public sector organisations and think tanks to fight the inherent policy failures that impact the poorest communities on issues that often fall between departments from tackling economic and environmental degradation, to supporting people to access life-changing educational opportunities to improving access to mental health support.
Jeremy joined BACP in October 2017 to lead on developing a strategy for older people. He began his career in mental health working for an independent advocacy project in Northampton in the mid 1990s before developing and supporting a national network of self help groups for Manic Depression Fellowship (Bipolar UK) then with British Lung Foundation leading on the Breathe Easy project, working in partnership with commissioners, health care professionals and communities to embed Breathe Easy support groups for older people living with long term respiratory illness into local healthcare pathways.
Wherever you live, whether you are fully trained or in training to be a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, you are most welcome to join us from 9.45am. The meeting ends at 12 noon.
