We're delighted to provide you with selected online content from the Let the Voices be Heard! An International Conversation on Counselling, Psychotherapy and Social Justice conference, jointly planned by the American Counseling Association (ACA), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

Each of the nations has its own unique history which informs counsellors’ and psychotherapists’ understanding of, and approach to, social justice. Therefore, we feel there is much we can learn from sharing our different histories and experiences.

The live stream will take place on Thursday 10, Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October 2019.

The on-demand service will run from Wednesday 22 October until Wednesday 17 December 2019. You can view the content an unlimited number of times, 24 hours a day during the on-demand service.

Bookings will close for the webcast on Saturday 12 October 2019 at 5pm. Bookings will not be taken during the on-demand service for this webcast.

Programme

The webcast will include a selection of presentations on a variety of themes, including the keynote presentations from Dr. Manivong J. Ratts and Eina McHugh. Find out about the keynote presentations (opens in new window).

You'll have the opportunity to discuss the presentations online with fellow members via our chat facility. You'll also be able to submit questions directly to our presenters in the studio, download your own CPD certificate and selected presentation slides.

Themes covered will include discrimination, media and technology and social justice, working with the transgender community, counselling those with disabilities, eco-feminism and African American Internalized Racism (themes subject to change). The webcast programme will be available soon.
