The training will demonstrate a variety of different ways in which nesting dolls can enable clients to process deep emotions.  The symbol of the different dolls reflects the layering of emotions, or a vertical timeline when the client sees themselves at different ages. The dolls can also be used to symbolise key relationships, including family and other group dynamics, identifying who might be hiding inside.

Pauline will explain how to choose your nesting dolls, including classic Matryoshkas, plain dolls and character dolls. A powerful, unforgettable, experiential day which will also include how different models lend theoretical support to working this way.

The main aim of the PDD is to

  • introduce participants to the effectiveness of using nesting dolls as a creative intervention in counselling.  A variety of ways of doing this will be demonstrated, with participants being given the opportunity to practise with each other.

By the end of the PDD, participants will be able to

  • use nesting dolls in your counselling practice, enabling clients to process feelings more deeply, become more aware of aspects of self, and explore relationship dynamics.
  • Participants will also learn how to choose which dolls to use and how to decorate their own nesting dolls.
  • will see how to work with nesting dolls online
