Supervisors keep their knowledge and skills up to date for both their therapeutic and supervision practices to meet the changing needs of their supervisees and their clients.

This in-person event will explore some of the issues manifesting in the supervision encounter, the challenges supervisors might have to deal with and the importance of attending to self-care and supervisee wellbeing to meet the increasing demands of the evolving professional landscape.

Programme

There will be a mix of workshop topics on offer, facilitated discussion groups and opportunities for supervisors to network and share their passion for supervision. The workshops are split into three strands:

  • self-care and wellbeing
  • contextual and contemporary issues
  • challenges in supervision

In addition, there will be two keynote speakers who will give inspirational talks. The first of these will focus on ‘What’s the point of supervision?’ which will explore the meaning and reality of supervision and energising the supervision process (Speaker TBC).

We are very pleased to announce that Brigid Proctor will be our second keynote speaker. Brigid will be reflecting on her long career in supervision practice and training and will be offering her words of wisdom for the supervisors of today to cascade to future generations.

Please note: the following workshops are now full:

Workshop 2

- Self-care for supervisors - preventing burnout and vicarious trauma

Workshop 3

- Facilitated group session on contextual and contemporary issues in supervision
