BACP accreditation schemes aim to recognise the achievement of high standards of knowledge, experience and development in counselling and psychotherapy.
We’ve received feedback from members applying for individual accreditation that they’d prefer an online application form rather than the current paper-based format. We also know that the process of applying can be streamlined to improve members’ experience. So in response, we've created a new and improved online form to make the application process easier.
The new form is fully integrated into our website and record management system, which means the information you provide in your application will be linked directly to your membership record, saving time and ensuring your details are secure. There's also a save for later function, which means you can gradually work on your application over time while knowing it’s held securely on our website.
The creation of the online application form has also made the process more accessible for all our members. The online form should be easier and more straightforward, but will still include some Microsoft Word templates you’ll need to complete as part of your application. We’ve also reviewed all our guidance and produced video resources and frequently asked questions to help you through the process.
If you’ve already started completing the previous downloadable Microsoft Word form, you’ll still be able to continue with your application in this format. We’ll still accept this type of application until 31 December 2022.
