About me and my therapy practice

I work within a personalised care approach for each individual and adapt my abilities and skills to suit dependent on the problem and task in hand. I use a combination of counselling theories and integrative approaches such as coaching, NLP and hypnotherapy in my work for clients. I use my broad and extensive knowledge and experience to support people with their mental health issues but also any psychosocial factors that may contribute. I adopt a solution focused treatment plan in which I will deploy the best modalities and tools for you to then go use and practice.

My experience and background is acute medical/nursing within the NHS, tutoring young adults in employability, care home manager and most recent social prescribing for the NHS West Essex CCG. I have had the pleasure in working and gaining more knowledge from social care, courts, police, councils, fire brigades, local primary care networks (GP's) and charities. This has helped me to understand how best to support my clients with family separation, long term health conditions from surgery to carers and clients with anxiety from attachment issues.

Practice description

My work consists of using your different learning preferences and engaging you not just vocally through videocalls but also visually and auditory via worksheets and researching particular topics so you can learn about yourself on the journey. I work professionally but informally within the remit of my expertise and adhered to boundaries to help support my client to minimalise, eradicate and/ or accept the problematic issue. This may be short or long term working.

It is my belief that great understanding and empathy comes from people who have learnt and/ or experienced similar situations. No issue and no client is ever the same but together we can find what works for you and help resolve the issue. If you are ready (of which you have made the first step already), so am I.

My first session

The first session is often exploring the current issues and the way in which you wish to learn and utilise therapy. A contract is agreed to and a flexible plan of your therapy discussed.

There may be some assessments to determine risks and or levels of moods etc.

Any questions and session requests are usually dealt with in the first session as well as any boundaries addressed. Things do change for people and so I believe in tailoring support when needed.
