About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor with over ten years of experience working within mental health settings. For all of us, there are moments where we may need some help to bring balance and clarity back into our lives to move forward.
You might be thinking about seeing a counsellor/therapist for a variety of reasons, some examples of this might include: feeling stuck, distressed, anxious, depressed, questioning your sexuality, have intimacy, personal or professional relationship issues, trying to understand how your past trauma is impacting your here and now, experienced loss, questioning “who am I, what do I want?” or you may just wish to develop a better understanding of yourself and your patterns in order to find a more fulfilling, balanced life.
Counselling and psychotherapy are forms of talking therapy. There are many forms of talking therapy, It can be an overwhelming experience finding the “right fit” for you.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor, meaning I have been trained in a way that draws on several schools of thought which work together in a harmonious and holistic way.
Being trained as an integrative counsellor has given me tools to draw upon to best suit your needs, so together we work through the difficulties you are experiencing, at a pace and depth that is appropriate for you to feel more empowered within yourself and your life.
My first session
The first session is a chance to get to know each other. It's also a chance to ask questions about what to expect when in talking therapy, your hopes, fears, and possible goals.
The aim is that when you feel ready to come to counselling, you do not face your challenges in life alone, that together we build a connection that is; non-judgemental, warm, respectful, safe, creative and collaborative.
Should you make the choice not to continue after the first session you will not charge you for it.
