About me and my therapy practice

Relationship therapy.

Meeting face to face or using Zoom online, whichever you prefer, therapy for couples and individuals.

I offer a supportive and reflective space for individuals and couples in the Newbury area and Marlborough area. Please check my website for information on locations.

Working with singles and couples over many years, I have gained a thorough and creditable training at the Tavistock Relationships organisation in London.  I continue to train and develop my working practices, using the psychodynamic psychoanalytic model as the basis of my therapeutic intervention with clients.

Relationships are complex, I help clients explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Offering a neutral and gently challenging position, I believe that sharing thoughts and feelings either in a solo or couple session can uncover patterns of behaviour which we sometimes feel stuck in.

Single client sessions - £ 50 or £ 55 - online or in-person

Couples sessions -  £ 60 or £ 65 - online or in-person

Practice description

I'm interested in the unconscious processes which form part of at play in our relationship - why do we stay together? Why do we want to part? Why can't I find a fulfilling partnership? Our family background, past experiences and environment can shape how we manage our adult relationships. Being in a partnership can be both rewarding and demanding and the demands of modern living can sometimes put a strain on our individual and joint resources in coping.

My first session

Our first session gives us the opportunity to talk through your needs and express and explore your thoughts and feeling concerning your relationship issues.

At the end, you can ponder your experience, seek out other therapists to meet, mutually agree to further regular sessions, or perhaps I might feel that another type of support would be more beneficial.

What I can help with

Anxiety, Bereavement, Cultural issues, Depression, Relationships, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress

Types of therapy

Behavioural, Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic

Clients I work with

Adults, Couples, EAP, Families, Older adults

How I deliver therapy

Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short-term face-to-face work
