I don,t work weekendsAbout me and my therapy practice
Hello I am Louise. If your looking on this site you've already making the first step towards making positive changes. I offer you a warm, friendly and safe non judgmental space in which you can explore issues that are preventing you from living towards your full potential. The foundation of my work is in Personal Centred Counselling, blending humanistic theories. That mainly means I help support you as you talk about what you want to bring. We work together with what you feel is important. I use these theories as tools, to be along side you; To help you explore, reflect and untangle the knot of your issues and needs, allowing you to move forward and heal. As well as talking therapy I can offer with permission, a creative approach working with art, visualisation, creative writing and sand tray to suit each individual needs.Practice description

If you've not had counselling before you might have some questions and concerns which I will try to answer for you How long is the Therapy ? Sessions are 50 minutes long. After which people can react in various ways, for example they may feel very tried or very uplifted. You might feel the need to take it easy after a session. The amount of sessions varies from person to person, as no one person is the same. I recommend that we meet for an initial six weeks, then review of how to go forward How do you know it is confidential? I work under an ethical framework, set out by the BACP, where confidential practice is paramount. When we first meet I will ask you to sign a contract of work. I will only break this contract if I feel you are at risk to self or others or breaking the law. This is for protection of your safety and mine. What if you can,t think of any thing to say ? This is a very common worry. As I work in the Personal Centred you can feel assured that I will only explore areas you are ready to lead me to. If you are lost for words, the healing can still take place. I am skilled in approaching issues in different ways that will open up the discussion. What if counselling makes you feel worse? Therapy can be a painful process and often we can feel worse before it gets better. However the work is worth whiled. It allows us to become aware, unstuck and heard. People can find once they start the process, they unburden, leaving lighter and more resourced to deal with their problems. I am very mindful in each session that the client leaves feeling grounded and safe. As the work progresses clients will usually start to notice the benefit. Therapy helps to release our full potential, moving us forward to lead a happier, more fulfilled lifes. If you are considering coming to counselling and there are any questions you would like to ask please do not hesitate to contact me.What I can help with
