About me and my therapy practice

I offer in-person and online counselling for adults via Zoom, WhatsApp, Facetime and telephone.

I provide a range of professional, friendly and effective talking therapies underpinned by the latest neuroscientific research. With a strong background of managing mental health services for over 25 years I have extensive experience of a wide range of issues. Because of my background and training I take the view there is no single approach to therapy. I draw on a number of therapeutic methods and tailor these to meet your individual circumstances. I run my own private practice and worked as a Service Manager within IAPT NHS counselling services and as a counsellor within local charities/NHS commissioned services.

Alongside traditional talking therapies I offer EMDR treatment. This can be a standalone approach or used in conjunction with other therapies. EMDR psychotherapy can help people to recover from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of adverse life experiences/trauma. I'm an accredited EMDR practitioner and a registered member of EMDR UK Association. emdrassociation.org.uk

Practice description

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed or unappreciated? Perhaps your mood has been low for a while and you can’t seem to shift that feeling. Sometimes life events such as losing a loved one, relationship break-ups, family problems or work issues can leave us feeling helpless.

Whatever you are going through counselling can offer you the opportunity to understand and come to terms with your troubles. Perhaps you are considering help to untangle your thoughts. Maybe you think a lot about things that have happened in the past that still affect you. Sometimes there may be a sense that life is lacking in meaning and direction. We can all lose sight of who we really are and what we want from life. Counselling can help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your inner resources and live life more fully.

I offer a range of specialist work

LGBTQ+ - Working with people across the spectrum of gender identity, sexual orientation and relationship diversity.
