About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with difficulties in your life and need some help? Would you like to improve your personal relationships? Do you want to talk to someone in a safe space without being judged? If so, I offer professional counselling for children, teenagers, adults and couples. I know from my experience that the world can be a stressful place and our daily lives can challenge us emotionally and physically. It's this personal experience combined with my professional training that has shaped my therapy practice.

Counselling provides a confidential, non-judgemental environment where you can work through your problems. I offer professional counselling for children, adults and couples. My counselling experience is diverse and includes working with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, self harm and emotional trauma caused by abuse or relationship issues.

I am a down to earth, genuine counsellor. As a counsellor I will help you explore not only your present problems but also look back into where these problems maybe rooted in your past. It is often helpful to consider how the past affects us now and with new awareness you are equipped to make any changes you wish to make.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer 1:1 or group supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors.  Just like my counselling practice where I feel one approach does not fit all, and therefore work as an integrative counsellor, I have adopted the same approach in my supervision practice; working as an integrative supervisor, predominantly using The Seven Eyed Model and the Cyclical Model.

The majority of my counselling work is done within school settings, working in both primary and secondary schools, therefore my supervision practice is specialised to work with practitioners who work with young people. However, I do still have experience in supervising practitioners who work with adults.

I offer secure, confidential support with complex and complicated therapeutic dilemmas.  It is a supportive space to for you to discuss your clients and explore your practice as a counsellor.  I always work hard to create a supportive, collaborative and creative relationship with my supervisees, and offer a non-judgemental space to explore your client work.

Practice description

My private practice is either online, via Zoom, or face-to-face sessions are held at my office in JQ Modern, Vyse Street, Birmingham which I find offers a comfortable and confidential space for the work to be carried out.

My first session

I always suggest an initial session to spend time together to consider what the supervisee is hoping to gain from supervision and to agree a working contract.  It also gives you an opportunity to see if the way I work meets with what you are looking for in a supervisor, as this relationship is an important one in order for you to feel comfortable to discuss all your practice in depth.

All sessions are 1.5 hours in duration, in accordance with the BACP ethical framework.
