About me and my therapy practice

Attachment is often described as our experiences of connection with others and how that mirrors our own sense of safety and perception of self. Often the way we relate to the world and communicate ourselves to others reflects how we respond within relationships which may feel challenging, complex, and confusing.

Very often the foundation of how we relate and respond to others can be traced back to early experiences of connection with caregivers which can influence our capacity for separation, loss, rejection, and love. These responses create a template of expectations for future relationships and interactions and impacts our ability to feel safe and secure within them.

As we are all individual and carry our unique experiences, we naturally need different things from counselling. I offer a reflective, confidential, non- judgemental space from which to explore aspects of ourselves through thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I use an integrative, person- centred approach which means finding a way of working together that feels right for you. I will do this by exploring feelings and experiences with compassion and respect and at times challenge from different techniques which will support you through the process of counselling.

I work affirmatively with people of all genders, sexualities, and relationship diversity (GSRD). This includes those who identify as trans, queer, gender fluid, non- monogamous, LGBTQ+ community or who are wanting to exploring gender or sexuality.

I have specific experience with trauma, attachment, addiction, loss and bereavement, relationship challenges, anxiety, and depression.
