About me and my therapy practice
We are all individual and carry our unique experiences, therefore we naturally need different things from counselling. I offer a reflective, confidential, non-judgemental space from which to explore aspects of ourselves through thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I use an integrative, person-centred approach which means finding a way of working together that feels right for you. I will do this by exploring feelings and experiences with compassion and respect and at times challenge drawing from different techniques which will support you through the process of counselling.
I have experience working with children and young people in schools and university, adults in low cost counselling and NHS. I have specific experience with trauma, addiction, loss and bereavement, and relationship challenges, as well as anxiety and depression.
I work affirmatively with people of all genders, sexualities, and relationship diversity (GSRD). This includes those who identify as trans, queer, gender fluid, non-monogamous and the LGBTQ+ community.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked with children and families for 20 years. This has given me a keen interest into early attachments, family dynamics and relationships.
I feel I bring these skills and knowledge into my sessions with clients providing a confidential, supportive, open space to discuss any experiences a client wishes to bring.
