About me and my therapy practice
Maybe you often feel responsible for other people or find it hard to set healthy boundaries. Perhaps how you feel about yourself depends on the opinion of others or maybe you think you could be a ‘people-pleaser’. Many of us have been encouraged to reflect on our lives recently and this will be different for everyone. You may want to explore long standing difficulties and now just feels like a good time. You could feel unsure about your future, interested in exploring how you treat yourself or wonder if you need to make changes in your relationships.
I’d welcome the opportunity to help you make sense of how you're feeling, so you can feel better about yourself and your life. I’ll gently ask questions that encourage you to tell me about who you are and what has brought you here, so we can work together to identify how you can feel happier and more content. I use tools from the person-centred, TA and creative approaches to therapy.
I’m currently working online which offers the warmth and connection of face-to-face sessions, but with added convenience and comfort. I’ll guide you through the process of creating a therapeutic space yourself, so you feel comfortable and safe for our sessions. I use end-to-end encrypted platforms to ensure we work securely and will be as flexible as possible about when we meet.
You’re welcome to email me to book a free 15-minute initial phone call or video session, so we can explore whether we are a good fit for working well together. If we don’t feel it’ll work, I can support you with finding someone else. My first session
Our first contact is usually a free 15-20min phone or video call. We'll talk about the difficulties you're facing and cover any of your questions. We'll touch on what you can expect from therapy with me and work out if we both feel we're a good fit to work together.
If we both feel happy to progress, we'll organise the first session. Some therapists call this an assessment session. With me, this is when I'll ask you some questions about your life, your history and begin to build a picture of who you are, what you're seeking and how I feel I can help you. There's no need to prepare anything for this session.
