About me and my therapy practice

Welcome, In my private practice I will meet you as an equal Human being, you can feel safe in the knowledge that you will not be judged in any way and together we will work to find the best way forward for you. My Private practice is situated in a quiet residential area in Crayford/Dartford, 4minutes walk from Crayford train station. The Counselling room is separated from the house to enable extra privacy and Disabled access when required. My 13years of experience includes working within a GP setting, working for charity organisations as a Bereavement Counsellor with adults and in schools with children, although I only work with adults within my private practice. My background history before Counselling has mainly been in the Caring field including a Care assistant for 'End of Life' Care, Foster Carer and Personal Carer for a family member. Please take a look at my website for more information on how I work. www.mheseldentherapy4u.com

Practice description

Due to Covid-19 I am currently offering virtual face 2 face video sessions via Zoom or Telephone sessions. I have completed the required training with 'The On-line Therapy Institute' which is recognised by the BACP & adheres to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling professions.

My first session

Before our first session I will send you some forms via email to browse over, these will include the practice address, a data privacy form and a Client/Counsellor agreement. we will have time at the beginning of the session to go over these if you have any questions or would like to add something. The first session will be about introduction briefly and onto your presenting issue, its very common to want to offload in this first hour and its my role to help you to do that whilst feeling safe and supported. I shall also make sure that between us we are able to pin point your most pressing needs to begin with & come to an agreement together on where to focus and what might be helpful to start with whilst keeping an eye on what your desired outcomes are for the future. I shall strive to work with you to achieve realistic hopes or goals, I shall make sure we have time towards the end of the first session to recap together and decide on whether we both agree to continue with further sessions. If we decide to go ahead we shall agree on a suitable date & time for your following session, payment is made at the end of each session (currently by bank transfer)
