About me and my therapy practice
Counselling is a form of healing. Talking is therapeutic, the simple act of talking to someone who is listening, can help us humans to feel better. This is the basis of my belief in counselling. Life does get messy and sometimes it can be overwhelming. Talking it through can help bring clear thinking, peace of mind and better feeling thoughts.
I came to qualify as a therapist through the route of offering tarot readings and angel card readings. I found listening to my clients was just as helpful as anything I had to say! I do have a degree in psychology and literature with the Open University and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. As a 54 year old female I also have many years of life experience.
The amount of sessions you have is up to you, how often you have sessions is also up to you. Once a week, for at least six weeks is the usual amount, but I prefer to play it by ear and allow the process to unfold, which sometimes may be longer than six weeks, or sometimes shorter. Depending on you, as a client, and how you feel.

My first session
First session involves a face to face meeting in offices in Southend, a quick run through of our contract. I say 'our', I mean you and I, between us, agreeing to terms and conditions which are required by governing bodies and insurance companies! The first session will also involve a brief assessment of your current situation and will last for 45/50 minutes.
