Hello, I am Francesca Marjoram and I run Talk For Change Therapy from a private clinic in Princes Risborough.

Covid-19 :From September 2020 I will be offering face to face sessions, online sessions and telephone counselling. My private practice room is large and airy and I have a Covid-19 policy in place to ensure the safety of all my clients.

For many people with common mental health problems, talking therapies are proven to be as effective as medicines. They create long-lasting positive changes so you not only feel better but stay better. I also work with people whose physical health problems affect their mood and motivation, helping them to cope with treatment and medication plans.

I offer a confidential space for you to explore previous decisions you have made and to understand the direction and patterns of your life.  Our work together can help you to trust your decisions, and to think and act as an individual improving the way you feel about yourself.

Practice description

Young People

In my private practice I have supported young people to work through feelings of anxiety and depression, understanding the role of coping strategies in response to overwhelming pressure and stress.   I work non-directively and creatively with whatever the young person brings to the session.  I have worked with students who face particular challenges in their chosen career paths and who have specific difficulties such as ADHD and Autism.

My work in Further Education as a lecturer has informed my work with young people and I believe in the positive benefits of psycho-education to support young people to understand themselves in the context of their lived experiences.  Psycho-education encourages self-compassion and reduces feelings of shame.

In my counselling work I have supported adults to work through issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, health challenges, relationship breakdown and divorce, sexuality and gender, and work  related difficulties.  I will offer you empathy, a non-judgmental approach and will respect your confidentiality.

I have worked for several years for a charity supporting survivors of sexual abuse, and use a three stage trauma model to support recovery.

My practice is based in Princes Risborough with parking nearby.

My first session

What happens when you get in touch?

The first step is to contact me via email or telephone.  Please leave a message if you call and I do not answer immediately, it is likely I will be working and I will endeavor to return your call within 24 hours Monday to Friday.

We can then arrange a mutually convenient time to connect via telephone for a free 20-30 minute consultation and we can consider if we can work together going forward.

From there we would aim to have weekly on-going sessions for as long as you felt it was helpful to you on the same day and at the same time each week.

We can work via secure online video platform Zoom or telephone, and I am taking face to face bookings from September Covid19 secure and current guidelines continuing to allow it.
