About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with experience in working successfully with individuals from many different backgrounds on a wide range of issues.
My main approach to therapeutic work is integrative, meaning I work with a number of different approaches and use a skillset from all in order to meet the individual needs of my clients. Through my counselling work, I have met clients who have experienced a broad range of different and complex issues. These have included: depression, anxiety, stress, drug and alcohol dependency, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, coming to terms with bereavement and loss, coping with lifestyle changes, suicidal feelings, sexuality and work-related problems.
My role is to help you identify, clarify and explore personal difficulties whilst raising your self-awareness and gaining a better understanding of both current and past experiences. In this way, it can help you to come to terms with conflicts and difficulties, and discover new ways of being.
My past experience includes working with people with drug and alcohol misuse issues at NHS Drug and Alcohol Treatment Consortium in Southwest London. I have also worked in schools with parents who have faced many challenges as well as at Place2Be where I counselled primary school children. Currently, along with my private practice, I also volunteer for CRUSE Bereavement Care, supporting people who have suffered a bereavement.
I am a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) whereby I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to their Professional Conduct Procedure. I am committed to ongoing professional development and my work is fully insured. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Practice description
My role is to listen to you and gain a good understanding of your needs. I aim to provide the right conditions in which we can build a therapeutic relationship whereby you are able to share any thoughts or feelings without feeling judged. Feeling safe and having the time and the space dedicated to you can be of great help to enable you to work through your issues.
Considering to come to therapy for the first time can feel intimidating and it is normal to feel apprehensive when entering unfamiliar territory, but the good news is you have taken the first step in looking for a therapist.
I offer both short term and open-ended therapy, and we will discuss what is most suitable for you personally.
My first session
During our initial appointment, we will discuss your concerns and I will be asking you questions about why you have decided to seek therapy and what your expectations are from the process. We will begin to explore the history of the difficulties you are experiencing and this will also be an opportunity to decide how we can work together therapeutically in future sessions. It is important that you find a therapist you feel comfortable working with and you are under no obligation to return after the first session. You also need to consider if you are able to commit to regular attendance and engagement in the therapeutic process.
Following the initial assessment, sessions will last for 50 minutes, and will usually be at the same time and same day each week.

Abuse, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Obsessions, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Stress, Women's issues, Work related issues
