About me and my therapy practice

 I offer a warm, safe and welcoming counselling space for you to explore your feelings and thoughts.  Life can feel overwhelming at times.  Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety or stress?  Maybe you are needing to understand what's going on in a relationship?  Perhaps work is getting you down or you need help with making an important decision?  Whatever it is, I can help you.

I believe that building a trusting relationship together is crucial for therapy. I bring a caring, empathic, attitude to the relationship. In this way you can begin to share with me your thoughts and feelings. In doing so we can work through your concerns and issues together. 

You are the expert on you and I will do my best to understand and help you to move forward by providing you with tools to enhance your well-being. Importantly, the counselling tools that I provide you with will be helpful in your everyday life to enable to manage life's stressors.  Counselling with me will help you feel more in control and empowered.


My first session

In our first session together we will have a chat about what brings you to counselling. Together, we can talk about any  goals that you have so that we may work towards these. They may change over time and I will offer goal reviews along the way. 

Most importantly this is where you take the lead. I work with you, however best suits you. I offer a space where you can offload and sometimes this sharing in a confidential space is incredibly healing in itself. 

I will provide you with an overview of how we can work together over the coming weeks, as well as discussing your expectations of our therapy sessions together. 

I am flexible in what I offer. Some people feel that they would like counselling each week and others feel that every two weeks is fine. We can discuss what will best suit your needs.
