About me and my therapy practice
In my work as a psychotherapist, I facilitate clients to acknowledge, bear, express and integrate deep, personal, emotional distress. In Psychosynthesis terms, this distress can be traced back to a core, or inner, psychological wound - a 'soul wound'. I believe we are more than just our symptoms and problems: our worries, distress and issues can eventually help us to understand ourselves better, and lead to a happier, more fulfilled life. Psychosynthesis therapy can therefore support us when we are in emotional/psychological need, and also help us in the journey to become who we really are.
I have 20 years experience working as a counsellor and psychotherapist, both in private practice and in the Higher Education sector. I am committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of society, helping alleviate peoples' distress, and also ultimately see our difficulties as an opportunity for growth. I am able to understand and work with the complex issues that present themselves within an ethnically diverse community and am committed to working with clients from all around the world and with extremely varying social needs, cultural, spiritual and ethnic backgrounds. Psychosynthesis draws on a rich variety of schools, theories and techniques. This is of great benefit to clients as it enables me to tailor the therapy to meet each individual needs, providing a creative, rich and meaningful therapeutic space.
I have an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, am also UKCP registered, and have a background in teaching and art and design.
