About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my therapeutic approach is based upon my integrative counselling training and focused on the person-centred way of being. I chose this because of my own experience—and now deeply held understanding—that every individual is a unique being who is evolving during their life to become all that they can and want to be.

The wide variety of clients I have worked with has also taught me that when offering the core conditions (empathy, genuineness, unconditional respect/caring) change is always possible and with support every individual is capable of solving their problems and resolving their issues in order to live what they perceive and choose to be a better quality of life.

My work so far has confirmed my conviction that when counselling someone it is necessary to work with the whole person always, together with the reason that they have initially sought help, because everything about someone contributes to who they are.

For more information please see my website.

I see clients in my home in Shepshed, Loughborough. My aim is to support you throughout your process, so I offer emergency back up phone calls to when needed.

I offer home visits for those who cannot attend appointments so please contact me for details, there is a £5-£10 addition to the fee for travel costs.

I also offer phone and skype work. I do offer some concessions to counselling students in training, and to those who cannot, for health reasons, work full-time. {I charge £45 per hour for phone work, £48 for skype, and £50 for in person work. For couples I charge £60.}

At this difficult time for all of us, I am offering skype/video sessions also for anyone who feels overwhelmed and the need to talk to someone in confidence. So please get in touch, there is no expected commitment to longer term work, I'm here to listen in these unprecedented times.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with qualified and trainee counsellors and have been qualified to supervise for over a decade and BACP accredited for 11 years. I'm Person-centred and work integratively.

I offer some concessions for long-term work based upon a commitment to a number of sessions for supervisees who are trainees. I work in Shepshed at the address here given.

Supervision is normally in person or via video.

Practice description

For me supervision is an explorative or collaborative review, with two people who are professional peers working openly together to explore, understand and appreciate the nature of the counselling relationship. I work with an open, Integrative Model of Supervision. We work to ensure the safety of the client, and you in your work as a counsellor.

So I'm there to support you with your work and help you to feel confident with your clients.

My first session

This is for us to meet, get to know each other and discuss what your needs as a supervisee are. I'm happy to let you know about my own experience so far in our profession.

It's length is up to us both to decide what is needed at this initial point.

I also offer support for anyone going through the registration and accreditation processes.
