About me and my therapy practice

As a Person-centred therapist I respect your uniqueness and can also draw on my experiences and knowledge of issues such as complicated bereavement, pre-grieving and forms of loss; mental well-being difficulties; relationship psychology and couples counselling .

I have substantial experience of working with a variety of people including retired people, teachers, health professionals, parents, disabled, young professionals, unemployed, students, trainees and young people. I have an up-to-date security check.

I enjoy what I do in helping people to help themselves. It is very rewarding. People often feel a sense of relief in starting a journey in counselling and there can be a sense of unburdening oneself. I listen to you without judgement and feel privileged that you are trusting me with what bothers you.

I may accept to work online or by the telephone with clients from a distance in this country, once we have met and established a working relationship, for example, if a client moves away or becomes unable to travel.

About me and my therapy practice

In a relaxed conversational way, we identify and focus on your concerns. I appreciate your thoughts and feelings alongside you and am attentive to the meaning they hold for you. Our dialogue has a therapeutic effect and this process between us helps facilitate what you want to achieve. Couples Counselling trained and experienced.

Listening attentively I respond genuinely, accepting what you are struggling with and how you manage that, however you tell me. I offer a warm, non-judgemental and ethical process for reflection on your concerns.

Your response to the process will be unique to you. Sometimes counselling might feel hard for you and I will understand this.

Practice description

Counselling and Psychotherapy Trainees please note I am a Person-centred/Client-centred Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Supervisor. I am able to work with Integrative practitioners.

You can come for short term solution-focussed counselling or more open-ended counselling and therapy depending on your needs and how you feel.

The content of your session is confidential (except endangering life). I attend regular supervision according to B.A.C.P. best practice. I am a registered member of the B.A.C.P. and C.R.B. checked.

Responsive appointment times - offering either daytime, evening or Saturday morning;

A well-trained, ethical, informed and well-supervised practice;

Accessible fees and when possible low-cost;

An empathic and non-judgemental understanding, reflecting on your concern.

My first session

I am currently only offering online or telephone counselling. This means the initial conversation we have is likely to be via email then we try a short online conversation using Zoom or via the telephone.  If you decide to go ahead with your counselling, we will find a suitable day and time for us both to meet on a regular basis unless you need just a couple of sessions.

I would like to know what brings you to counselling.  Although at this point you only say what you're comfortable with.  This is your opportunity to ask relevant questions if you have any.

About me and my therapy practice

Currently offering supervision online via Zoom or on the telephone.  Written support also available.

I am a Person-centred supervisor working in a collaborative way and using the 7-eyed model of supervision. Experienced at working with qualified counsellors - also trainees on university or college courses.  I am able to offer supervision to humanistic therapists, teachers, and those in health professions or publicly accountable roles, who are seeking review, support, safety and insight with their work in order to be able to hold all their responsibility and constructively move forward.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Supervision.  I work to the Bacp code of ethics.

If you contact me by email, I will send you a form to fill in the first instance as there is some practical information for me to consider if I am to be an ethical supervisor for you.  Following up, I prefer to speak with prospective supervisees on the telephone so that we can both get a better sense of each other and ask any relevant questions.  Then, if we decide to meet, I offer a reduced fee for the first hour session of respectful, collaborative consultation with you.
