About me and my therapy practice
Counselling can be sought for many reasons and I believe a close supportive collaboration between therapist and client is of great importance to a successful outcome. Whilst the process of counselling is not about offering advice, it is compassionate and accommodating and moves forward at a pace that you, the client, finds comfortable. Whether addressing short and specific issues, or longer journeys to rediscover your sense of well being, most of my clients achieve a greater perspective of their difficulties when empowered to do so in counselling.
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, trained in integrative counselling, which means I can draw on many theoretical approaches to offer you the type of counselling that suits you best. I offer a confidential service in a peaceful environment for an open ended or agreed length of time on a weekly or two weekly basis. The first session is free and explores whether you are happy for us to work together.
With work experience including five years at an NHS Health Centre, I am used to counselling people, young and old, from a diverse range of backgrounds and with many different types of difficulties, including depression, anxiousness, lack of self-confidence, anger, loneliness, bereavement and relationship difficulties to name a few.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their ethical guidelines. My practice is based in Penge SE20.
I accept appointments at 2 week intervals
My first session
Your first session is free of charge, and is primarily to assess how counselling may help you, and to agree terms for therapy. This would include interval of sessions, day of the week, what time in the day therapy would be conducted.
