About me and my therapy practice
My aim is to provide a counselling relationship that feels safe and confidential, that puts you, the client, with all your wishes, hopes and concerns, at the heart of your therapy. My primary approach is person centred, meaning that you are in charge of your agenda, being listened to and heard in a non-judgemental manner and supported to find your own path to reach your goals. I also integrate various psychotherapeutic insights, ensuring that you feel respected and understood as you gain a better understanding of who you are and how you can move forward in a more positive, fulfilling manner.
As a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I offer help and support for clients to get to know themselves holistically, inviting connection with mind, body, soul and emotion, into the work that we do. Clients can come to my home where I have a comfortable, private space to be in, or online over Zoom which gives the convenience of being in your own home, reducing travel and time. I also offer walk & talk sessions, if being outside feels more natural. I believe that the therapeutic relationship that we create is beneficial and supportive to your journey of developing and growing, finding yourself and becoming comfortable with being the person you truly are.
My first session
Within the first session we will spend time getting to know a bit about your hopes and fears for counselling, what led you to seeking support at this present moment and what you'd like to gain from your therapeutic experience. This will be a collaborative assessment of your needs and what I can offer you, and also a time for you to work out if you feel comfortable with me, as I feel this is a highly important aspect of being able to work together. This stage is the beginning of your therapeutic journey and the start of taking control of your own needs, being heard, supported and respected in your decision making.
