About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Charlotte. I feel to meet me would give you a much better idea of whether we would work well together, but first let me give you a background on how I came to list myself here. With a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and a number of years of experience working in therapeutic family support in education, in 2015 I decided to retrain as a Counsellor. I began an Integrative Counselling Level 3 course, and then progressed onto a Person-Centred Level 4 Diploma, finding that the philosophy of seeing each individual as the expert on themselves, and creating a space/relationship bespoke to the individual and their needs appealing to me.

Having completed a large part of my training with adult clients whilst working therapeutically with children and young people, I have a good range of experience of working with people of all ages. However, having completed a large part of training and research into attachment theory, I would say this is my specialist area.

I can offer a person-centred approach adapted to suit the individual needs and specific problems of each individual. Appointments can be conducted face to face in a safe, comfortable counselling setting, also via Skype or by telephone.

Practice description

I am a person-centred counsellor, committed to delivering the highest level of service. Following an initial 30 minute consultation to gather contact information and a picture of your needs, counselling sessions then progress on a weekly, one-to-one basis for 50 minutes. You may access an unlimited amount of sessions on an open-ended basis, excluding any annual leave, sickness or holidays.

My first session

Before our first session it is advantageous to have a 30 minute consultation to get a feel for your needs and the fit between us. During the consultation I will go through a referral form with you and give you a copy of the counselling agreement and privacy policy. In our first session we will discuss the agreement together and explore what is coming up for you in the moment.
