About me and my therapy practice
I am a UKCP & BACP Registered and Accredited Counsellor working in Waterloo, London. My experience is varied, and I have spent the last ten years supporting people with challenges in their life - from acute crisis to a general feeling that something does not quite fit.
My professional journey extends from having worked in community based counselling services and secondary care mental health organisations, such as Arbours Association, The Centre for Better Health, Maytree Respite Centre, Westminster Mind and City & Hackney Mind, to having managed the counselling service of London Metropolitan University.
Working in Higher Education is a passion of mine; from supporting university students going through complex life transitions to promoting a proactive engagement with mental health within an institutional context.
How I work
I facilitate a warm, non-judgemental and personable environment, where people can feel safe and listened to. As part of this process, I also offer my own reflections, when I think they can help – as looking at situations from different perspectives can be life-changing – and because I believe that a sense of self-understanding can be co-created through relating with others.
Our exploration will take place mainly through talking and it will sometimes be helpful to draw upon other things such as: literature, art, storytelling, movies and meditation.
