About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Senior Accredited BACP counsellor, having worked full time within the counselling field since 1996.
My approach is integrative, which means that the most effective approach is used to meet the needs of each person. This is underpinned by a humanistic philosophy that assumes the capacity of each individual to shape their own life. I draw from person-centred, existential, cognitive-behavioural therapies, with an emphasis on empowering the individual.
I have experience of helping with a wide range of difficulties but particular areas of expertise include bereavement, trauma, problems with drugs or alcohol and time-limited work. Since 2000, I have worked with organisations, provided workplace counselling, mediation and have attended over 120 critical incidents, supporting managers and staff after traumatic events such as accidents and terrorist attacks.
I have worked within the NHS, private and voluntary sectors and have had a busy private practice in East Dulwich since 2004.
If you are interested in the possibility of counselling, please feel free to get in touch for an informal discussion.
